Rough processing:
Method: The tantalum rod is preliminarily processed by drilling, turning, milling and other methods to make it close to the target shape and size.
Tool selection: Use wear-resistant, high-temperature-resistant, and high-hardness processing tools, such as tungsten steel drills, to ensure processing quality and efficiency.
Finishing:
Method: Use precision lathes, grinders and other tools to finish the tantalum rod to achieve precise shape and size.
Note: During the finishing process, the processing parameters must be strictly controlled to avoid excessive cutting force and heat, which will cause the tantalum rod to deform or deteriorate the surface quality.
Avoid hot processing: Tantalum rods are generally not hot processed because of their high recrystallization temperature and easy oxidation and brittleness. If hot processing is necessary, it should be carried out in a protective covering layer or in an inert gas atmosphere.
