Tantalum crucible has an extremely high melting point of about 3017°C (or 2995°C-2996°C), which enables it to withstand extremely high temperatures and is suitable for the smelting of high melting point metals and special alloys, as well as the synthesis process of high temperature ceramic materials and superhard alloys.
At the same time, tantalum crucible also has good corrosion resistance. Whether in cold or hot conditions, it does not react to strong acids and alkalis such as hydrochloric acid, concentrated nitric acid and aqua regia, but only reacts under the action of hydrofluoric acid and hot concentrated sulfuric acid. Such chemical properties are relatively rare in metals.
