Introduction to Titanium-Zirconium-Molybdenum Alloy
Introduction: Usually referred to as TZM, it is a molybdenum-based alloy with titanium and zirconium as alloying elements. Currently, TZM (Mo-0.5%Ti-0.008%Zr) and TZC (Mo-1.25%Ti-0.15%Zr-0.15%Carbon) are widely used. When the temperature exceeds 1300°C, the strength of TZM is twice that of pure molybdenum. The recrystallization temperature of TZM is about 250'C higher than that of molybdenum, and it has better welding performance.
The formation of TiC and ZrC in the TZM grain structure and molybdenum grain boundaries inhibits grain growth and prevents the failure of the related base metal caused by cracking at the grain boundary, which is why it has better welding performance.
TZM alloy has the characteristics of high melting point, high strength, good elastic modulus, small linear expansion coefficient, low vapor pressure, good electrical and thermal conductivity, strong corrosion resistance, and good high-temperature mechanical properties, so it is widely used in many fields.
