Precautions for processing and welding of Zhenan molybdenum tubes
Processing difficulties
High-hardness molybdenum tubes are difficult to cut, and carbide tools or diamond tools are required. The cutting speed is recommended to be ≤50m/min.
Molybdenum tubes are prone to work hardening during cold processing and require regular annealing (annealing temperature is about 1100-1300℃, vacuum or inert atmosphere protection).
Welding process
Electron beam welding or argon arc welding (tungsten inert gas welding, TIG) is recommended, which must be carried out under vacuum or high-purity argon protection to avoid oxidation of the molybdenum tube.
Before welding, the oil and oxide on the surface of the molybdenum tube must be thoroughly cleaned, and stress relief treatment must be performed after welding (annealing temperature is about 900-1000℃).
