Production process and flow of pure nickel rods
(I) Raw material preparation and smelting
In the production process of pure nickel rods, raw material preparation is crucial. Selected raw materials should ensure high nickel content and low impurities. The surface of the raw materials needs to be strictly cleaned, and moisture and impurities are removed by baking and drying to provide a pure basis for subsequent smelting.
During vacuum smelting, there are strict requirements for the order of feeding. Usually, small pieces of nickel, bottom carbon, nickel blocks, and small materials are put into the vacuum furnace in the order of small pieces of nickel, bottom carbon, nickel blocks, and small materials. Small materials generally contain elements such as Ti, Al, rare earth, nickel and magnesium. The temperature control during the smelting process is precise, the refining temperature is usually 1460-1520℃, and the refining time is greater than 25 minutes to ensure uniform composition and impurity removal. The pouring temperature is generally controlled at 1500℃, which helps to obtain high-quality ingots.
(II) Forging and hot rolling
In the forging process, electric furnace heating is used for multi-fire forging. The forging heating temperature is set at 960-1050℃, the initial forging temperature is 1000℃, and the final forging temperature is 850℃. Through multiple forgings, the metal structure and mechanical properties can be improved.
During hot rolling, the heating temperature is 960-1000℃, and the final rolling temperature is 900℃. The rolling specifications are determined according to demand, and air cooling is performed after rolling. Then the peeling and calendering treatment is carried out to remove the oxide layer and defects on the surface. Finally, the dimensional accuracy and surface finish of the pure nickel rod are ensured by polishing and sizing to meet the needs of different application scenarios.
