The manufacturing process of niobium crucible mainly includes the following steps:

‌Raw material preparation‌: First, niobium fluoride and sodium metal need to be prepared as reducing agents. These raw materials will be used for the subsequent thermal reduction reaction.

‌Thermal reduction reaction‌: In the sodium thermal reduction method, niobium fluoride and sodium metal are thermally reduced at high temperature.

‌Product treatment‌: After the reaction is completed, the reactants are taken out of the crucible, the salt in the reaction product is washed with water, and then the niobium powder is washed with dilute nitric acid and 25% hydrofluoric acid to remove impurities and improve the purity.

‌Crucible manufacturing‌: In addition to the above-mentioned thermal reduction method for preparing niobium powder, the manufacture of crucibles also includes the use of alumina as the main material to make crucible embryos through a specific process. A layer of crucible coating slurry is evenly coated on the inner surface of the crucible.
