Precautions for using niobium crucibles
Pretreatment: Before the first use, new niobium crucibles should be burned at 700℃ for several minutes, then boiled with 1:20 HCl for a while, and then rinsed with water.
Temperature control: Niobium crucibles are suitable for samples in molten alkaline solvents, but their melting temperature should generally not exceed 700℃. If sodium oxide needs to be melted, the temperature should be lower than 500℃ and the time should be short to avoid severe erosion that leads to an increase in nickel salt content and becomes an impurity in the determination.
Cleaning and maintenance: After use, it should be cleaned and kept dry in time to avoid swelling and deformation due to moisture. It should be placed in a ventilated and dry place when stored to prevent moisture from affecting the use effect.
Handling and storage: Handle with care during transportation, and do not drop, shake or roll to avoid damaging the protective layer on the surface of the crucible.
