Physical properties: Zinc wire has good electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and ductility, and can be easily drawn into filaments or processed into various shapes. Its density is relatively low, at 7.14 g/cm3, its melting point is 419.5℃, and its appearance presents a silver-gray metallic luster.
Chemical properties: At room temperature, a thin and dense zinc oxide film will form on the surface of the zinc wire. This oxide film can prevent zinc from being further oxidized, making it have good corrosion resistance. In humid air, zinc will react with carbon dioxide, water and other substances in the air to produce basic zinc carbonate, further enhancing its corrosion resistance. Zinc can also react chemically with acids, alkalis, etc. For example, it will react with dilute sulfuric acid to produce zinc sulfate and hydrogen.
