The production process of electrolytic cobalt flakes mainly includes the following steps:
1. Raw material preparation
Selection of cobalt raw materials: Usually suitable cobalt salts or cobalt concentrates are selected as raw materials. These raw materials are pre-treated by crushing, grinding, etc. to obtain powders with moderate fineness for subsequent dissolution and electrolysis processes.
2. Solution preparation
Dissolution and adjustment: The pre-treated cobalt raw materials are dissolved in an appropriate amount of solvent, usually using strong acids such as sulfuric acid to ensure that cobalt ions can be fully released into the solution.
3. Electrolysis process
Electrolytic refining: Inject the prepared cobalt salt solution into the electrolytic cell, and reduce the cobalt ions to metallic cobalt through electrolysis.
During the electrolysis process, an oxidation reaction occurs at the anode and a reduction reaction occurs at the cathode, thereby depositing high-purity metallic cobalt on the cathode.
4. Post-treatment
Extraction and processing: After the electrolysis is completed, the deposited metallic cobalt is taken out of the electrolytic cell, and after washing, drying, etc., a block or flake electrolytic cobalt product is obtained. If needed, electrolytic cobalt can be further processed, such as cutting, polishing, etc., to meet the application needs in different fields.
