From the perspective of physical and chemical properties, lanthanum tungsten electrode combines the characteristics of metal tungsten and lanthanum oxide, mainly in terms of no radiation, low evaporation rate, good arc starting performance, high arc column stability, good ductility, excellent ablation resistance and mechanical cutting performance. It is worth noting that the conductivity of 1.5% tungsten lanthanum material is close to that of 2% thoriated tungsten electrode.
From the perspective of production process, the preparation steps of lanthanum tungsten material are: first mix lanthanum acetate, ammonium paratungstate, tungsten trioxide and tungsten powder, and then add water to make lanthanum tungsten coated powder; the decomposition process of lanthanum salt in lanthanum tungsten coated powder is carried out in a hydrogen atmosphere.
