The production and processing flow of zirconium plates mainly includes raw material preparation, smelting, refining, processing and quality inspection.
Raw material preparation: The production of zirconium plates usually uses zircon as raw material, and the zircon needs to be crushed, ground and screened to obtain a particle size suitable for smelting.
Smelting: Zirconium smelting mainly adopts electrolysis. The crushed zircon is mixed with a carbonaceous reducing agent and reduced and smelted at high temperature to obtain crude zirconium containing zirconium. Then, metallic zirconium is obtained by electrolyzing molten zirconium chloride.
Refining: The purpose of refining is to remove impurities in crude zirconium and improve the purity of zirconium. The refining process includes vacuum distillation, electron beam melting and other methods to obtain high-quality metallic zirconium.
Processing: The refined metallic zirconium can be subjected to various processing operations, such as rolling, forging, stretching, etc., to meet the requirements of zirconium plate shape, size and performance in different fields. During the processing, it is necessary to select appropriate processing methods and process parameters according to the purpose and performance requirements of the product.
Quality Inspection: Quality inspection is the last checkpoint in the zirconium plate production process. In the quality inspection link, the composition, purity, performance, etc. of the zirconium plate need to be strictly tested and analyzed.
