Manufacturing process of graphite electrodes
Raw material selection: Petroleum coke is a by-product of the oil refining process and is the main raw material for graphite electrodes.
Calcination: The raw materials, mainly petroleum coke, undergo a process called calcination.
Mixing and molding: The calcined material is mixed with coal tar pitch and, in some cases, other additives.
Baking: The formed electrodes are baked in specialized ovens or furnaces.
Impregnation (optional): Some graphite electrodes may undergo an impregnation process.
Graphitization: The baked electrodes are then graphitized, a high-temperature process that typically exceeds 2500°C (4532°F).
Machining: The graphitized electrodes are machined to achieve the final dimensions and specifications required for various industrial applications.
Quality Control: Throughout the manufacturing process, stringent quality control measures are implemented.
Finishing and Coating (optional): Depending on the application, the electrodes may undergo a finishing process such as surface coating or treatment to enhance their performance or extend their service life.
Packaging and Shipping: The finished graphite electrodes are carefully packaged to prevent damage during shipping.
