Zirconium Wire Production Process!

First, high-purity sponge zirconium is obtained from zirconium ore through a complex refining process. This process involves ore crushing, beneficiation, and smelting to remove impurities and obtain high-purity sponge zirconium, which provides the basic raw material for subsequent zirconium wire production.

The sponge zirconium is melted in specialized melting equipment such as a vacuum arc furnace or electron beam furnace to form liquid zirconium. During the melting process, parameters such as temperature, time, and vacuum are strictly controlled to ensure complete melting and uniform composition of the zirconium. Subsequently, the liquid zirconium is poured into a specific mold for casting to produce a zirconium ingot.

Forging: The zirconium ingot is heated and forged, using pressure to refine its internal structure, increase its density and strength, and make it easier to process.

Drawing: After forging, the zirconium material undergoes multiple drawing processes to gradually reduce its diameter to the desired wire size. During the drawing process, appropriate lubricants and drawing dies are required to ensure the surface quality and dimensional accuracy of the zirconium wire.
