It is also quite stable in alkaline solutions and can resist the corrosion of alkaline solutions and molten alkalis.
Resistance to thermal neutron radiation embrittlement: Zirconium has good resistance to thermal neutron radiation embrittlement and is suitable for nuclear equipment.
Reaction with other substances: Zirconium is soluble in hydrofluoric acid and aqua regia. At high temperatures, it can react with non-metallic elements and many metal elements to form solid solutions.
