Corrosion resistance: Tantalum foil has excellent corrosion resistance to most acids (such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid) and alkalis at room temperature, and is only soluble in a mixture of hydrofluoric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid.
Oxidation resistance: Tantalum foil forms a dense oxide film at high temperatures to prevent further oxidation.
