Physical properties:
Electrolytic cobalt is silver-gray (or steel gray) and is a relatively hard and brittle metal.
It has ferromagnetism and its magnetism disappears when heated to 1150°C.
It does not react with water at room temperature and is also stable in humid air.
It is oxidized to form CoO when heated to above 300°C in air.
Preparation method:
The preparation methods of electrolytic cobalt include electrolytic refining, electrolytic deposition, extraction, and ion exchange.
