Physical properties
High melting point: The melting point of zirconium is as high as 1855℃. Zirconium wire can still maintain structural stability in high temperature environment and is suitable for high temperature application scenarios.
Low thermal neutron absorption cross section: Zirconium has extremely low absorption capacity for thermal neutrons, which makes it an ideal cladding material in the nuclear industry.
Electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity: The electrical conductivity of zirconium is between copper and stainless steel, and its thermal conductivity is poor (22.6 W/(m·K)), but it is sufficient to meet specific industrial needs.
Superplasticity: At specific temperatures (such as 700-900℃) and deformation rates, zirconium wire can exhibit superplasticity, which is convenient for complex shape processing.
