Basic preparation process of Zhenan tungsten wire
Raw material preparation: Tungsten concentrate is usually used as raw material, and it is converted into ammonium paratungstate (APT) through a series of chemical treatments, such as acid decomposition and alkali decomposition. Ammonium paratungstate is then calcined and decomposed into tungsten trioxide (WO₃).
Reduction: Tungsten trioxide is reduced in a hydrogen atmosphere to generate tungsten powder. During the reduction process, parameters such as temperature and hydrogen flow rate need to be strictly controlled to ensure that the purity and particle size of the tungsten powder meet the requirements.
Pressing and molding: After mixing tungsten powder with an appropriate amount of molding agent, a billet with a certain shape and size is made through a pressing device. During the pressing process, the density of the billet must be uniform to improve the quality of subsequent processing.
Sintering: The pressed billet is sintered at high temperature to combine the tungsten powder particles with each other to form a tungsten bar with a certain strength and density. The sintering temperature and time have an important influence on the performance of the tungsten bar and need to be precisely controlled.
Rotary forging and wire drawing: The sintered tungsten bar is subjected to a rotary forging process to gradually reduce its diameter and improve its density and strength. Then the tungsten bar is drawn into tungsten wires of different diameters by a wire drawing machine for multiple times. During the wire drawing process, the wire drawing speed and lubrication conditions should be controlled to prevent the tungsten wire from breaking and ensure the surface quality and dimensional accuracy of the tungsten wire.
Heat treatment: The tungsten wire after wire drawing usually needs to be heat treated to eliminate the internal stress generated during the processing, improve the organizational structure and performance of the tungsten wire, and make it have better toughness and stability.
